VERY VERY HONEST REVIEW: Batiste Dry Shampoo (Is it worth the hype?)

Dry shampoo as the name suggest is a type of shampoo to reduce the oiliness of your scalp and hair without the need of using water. It is such a life savior to most of us especially for me and everyone in the medical field who would seldom have enough time, and effort to wash their hair more than once per week. Hijabis or non hijabis, we are all thankful for this invention. HOWEVER, all products, any products, are subjective. For each individual is their own.

So, Batiste dry shampoo, siapa je tak tahu this brand kan? Sold in different size, colors, types. You have a preference? They have it. Also, being sold in all different platforms and drugstores including Watson and Guardian.

My first time using a dry shampoo was by using Batiste Extra Volume Dry Shampoo. But, before that as a disclaimer:

My hair type: thin (thus why I picked the extra volume type), smooth and most of the time manageable
My hair concern: hair loss

The thing I like about Batiste is that it is easier to find and cheapest that you’ll find in the drugstore. It cost about RM20+ with a lot and I mean a lot of choices to pick.

So, after using Batiste, I find that the product left my hair feeling very chalky and I had to scratch it off which lead to dandruffs. Eventually, I will have the urge to wash my hair because I just couldn’t stand the chalkiness of it. At first, I thought it was because I was using it wrongly, like maybe I sprayed too much, too near to the scalp/roots, or I did not shake it enough? But then, my friend also noted the same complain and we just completely stopped using it. I think it may be according to your hair type thus why it did not worked for me but worked amazingly for everyone else. HOWEVER, I've used it on my boyfriend to style his hair during that 'bad-hair-day', and it worked wonders on him. Volume? Tak payah cakap la, he went from flat hair to Edward Cullen really quick. So yeah, the product works for some, but it did not work for me. So it depends on you, does it really worth the hype?

My rating: 5/10
Repurchase: Sorry, but not until I find what I did wrong with it
Alternatives that I have tried: Klorane Dry Shampoo (Although quite expensive)
